Don’t Be a Creep: A New Industry Standard from @curate

Let’s be honest: the digital media and marketing industry has a problem.
We’ve all heard the stories - the ‘dodgy’ client, the ‘handsy’ exec, the inappropriate late-night message from the boss. For too long, this behaviour has been brushed off as banter, whispered about over drinks, or giggled away by crowds wearing gilets.
At Cannes Lions 2025, the whispers turned into true events. At least fifteen incidents of harassment, intimidation, or assault - in one week.
This isn’t awkward. It’s unacceptable.
And no one wants to work in a boys’ club anymore.
At @curate, we’ve always called out the BS in programmatic. But it doesn’t stop there. We’re now calling out the cultural rot that’s infected too much of this industry for too long.
Introducing the Industry Standard
We’re launching a new proposal: a behavioural code designed to set clear expectations, drive real accountability, and build a safer, more respectful working environment for all.
We’re calling it what it is: Don’t Be a Creep.
It’s not just a code of conduct. It’s a movement.
One that asks you, and the people around you, to take responsibility.
What We’re Asking
We’re still finalising the details, but right now, we’re looking for industry allies and early advocates to express their want to join this movement. If this sounds like something you’d stand behind, we’d love to hear from you.
Simply drop our marketing department an email saying you'd love to be part of this, in whatever shape or form it becomes. We'll make sure we keep you updated on our progress and provide the details once ready.
Because change doesn’t come from the top. It comes from us.
